- The call
- What’s urgent, what can wait, told straight. If it can wait, we say so. No padding the bill.
Included, in full.

Asked all the time.
- How much does a roadworthy cost in QLD?
- There’s no single state-set price. Every approved inspection station sets its own, so it varies across Brisbane. At DriveSafe it’s $99 flat with code RWC99: one price at the workshop, GST included, nothing extra on the day. If the car doesn’t pass you get the exact list priced on the spot. Fix it with us or anyone, no obligation.
- How long is a QLD safety certificate valid for?
- Selling privately, it’s 2 months or 2,000 km, whichever comes first. Licensed motor dealers get 3 months or 1,000 km. The clock starts the day it’s issued, so book it close to when you actually plan to sell.
- When do I need a safety certificate?
- Transferring registration to a new owner, bringing a registration into Queensland from another state, or re-registering a car that’s been off the road. Only an approved inspection station can issue one. We are one, at Northgate.
- What happens if my car doesn’t pass?
- You get the exact list of what failed, priced on the spot, nothing invented, nothing added. What fails is what the QLD checklist says fails. Fix it with us or anywhere you like.
- How long does the inspection take?
- About 45 minutes, and we have same-week slots most days. Wait in the lounge with coffee and a PlayStation 5, or drop the car and come back for it.
