Terms
Terms of Service
What you can expect from us and what we need from you, including exactly what our advertised service price covers and what it doesn't.
Last updated 2026-09-13
These terms
These terms apply when you request a booking, send an enquiry, or have work done by DriveSafe Mechanical Pty Ltd (ABN 18 701 026 048), trading as DRIVESAFE from 15 Edgar Street, Northgate QLD 4013. By submitting a form on this website you agree to them.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where any term conflicts with that law, the law wins and the rest of these terms still stand.
A booking is a request, not a confirmed appointment
This is the most important thing on this page, so it goes first. When you complete the booking form you are telling us the window you would prefer. You are not booking a confirmed slot, and nothing is locked in at that moment.
We confirm by text or phone call. Your booking exists once we've come back to you and agreed a time, not before. Until then, please don't drive to the workshop expecting a bay to be free.
We aim to come back to you quickly, during trading hours: Mon to Fri, 8:00am to 5:00pm · Sat, 9:00am to 2:00pm. Closed Sundays. If you haven't heard from us and you need to be certain, ring us on (07) 4803 8387. That's always the fastest answer.
Preferred day and time windows offered on the form are a guide to our trading pattern. Available windows differ on Saturdays, and a window being offered on the form does not guarantee it is free on the date you want.
You get the price before we touch the car
We quote you before we do any work, and we don't exceed a quote without asking you first. This is how we operate, and it is a term of doing business with us.
An advertised or indicative price is a starting price. The final figure depends on your vehicle, what it needs, and what we find. If the inspection turns up something beyond the job you booked, we tell you what it is, what it costs, and what happens if you leave it. You then decide. If you say no, we do the work you booked and nothing more.
If we cannot reach you for authorisation, we stop and wait. We will not proceed on an assumption that you would have said yes.
What the advertised service price includes
Our advertising promotes a service from $149. Here is precisely what that means, so there are no surprises.
The standing price, and what changes it
Our standard published price for a Standard Service is $199, as listed on our services page. The lower advertised prices are promotional: a valid promo code is what buys them. If you have a code from one of our advertisements, a social post or a flyer, enter it on the booking form and the discount applies. Without a code, the standing price applies.
A code has to be one we have actually issued. Codes are checked when you enter them, and an unrecognised code is declined at the form rather than quietly accepted and sorted out later.
The price ladder by vehicle
Vehicles are not all the same to service, and pretending otherwise is how the "from" price becomes a trap. The promotional price steps by vehicle type:
| Tier | Vehicle | Examples | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4-cylinder petrol / small SUV | Yaris, Corolla, i30, Mazda3, CX-3, RAV4 | $149 |
| 2 | 6-cylinder / large SUV / petrol ute | Commodore, Kluger, Prado petrol | $199 |
| 3 | Diesel / 4WD ute | HiLux, Ranger, D-Max, Navara | $249 |
| 4 | European / prestige | VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes | $299 |
Prices include GST. Final cost depends on your car’s make and model.
Included
- An oil and filter change, using up to 5 litres of standard-grade oil.
- A full inspection of the vehicle, with a written report telling you exactly what your car needs and what can wait.
- Our time, our workmanship, and an honest answer.
Not included
- Oil beyond 5 litres, and long-life or full-synthetic oil where your vehicle requires it. Diesel, 4WD, European and prestige vehicles commonly need both, which is what the higher tiers reflect.
- Any parts or repairs beyond the oil and filter, including anything the inspection identifies.
- Additional or specialist items: a service light reset that needs specialist equipment, say, or non-standard filters.
- Anything not written into the quote you approved.
Everything in that second list is quoted to you before it happens. You will never find it on the invoice without having agreed to it first.
Workshop and mobile are not the same service
- The $149 entry price is workshop only, at 15 Edgar Street, Northgate.
- Mobile servicing starts at $229 and is available within 10km of Northgate. Outside that radius we cannot come to you.
- A mobile visit cannot include the full check-up. There is no hoist on a driveway, so parts of the inspection are physically impossible. We will tell you what needed the hoist and you can decide whether to bring it in.
Some services are workshop-only because they need a hoist or specialist equipment. The booking form only offers you what is genuinely available in the mode you choose.
Your vehicle and your details
- Please give us accurate vehicle and contact details. A wrong rego or odometer reading can mean the wrong parts, a wasted booking, and a bill for a job we could not complete.
- You confirm you are the owner of the vehicle, or authorised by the owner to have work done on it.
- Please remove valuables. We take reasonable care of your vehicle while it is with us, but we are not responsible for personal items left inside it.
- If your vehicle is unregistered, tell us on the form. Getting an unregistered vehicle to and from us lawfully is your responsibility.
Collection and payment
Payment is due when the work is complete and before the vehicle is collected, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We'll tell you the amount before you commit. See Refunds & Cancellations for cancellations, deposits and what happens if something goes wrong.
If a vehicle is left with us for an extended period after we have told you it is ready and we have been unable to reach you, we may charge reasonable storage costs. We will always try to contact you first.
Our work, and the limits of our responsibility
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to have a major failure re-performed or refunded, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time.
Subject to those rights, we are responsible for the work we actually did. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults we were not engaged to fix, for a fault we identified and quoted where you chose not to proceed, or for consequences of a vehicle being operated after we advised against it.
Parts we supply carry the manufacturer's warranty. Where you supply your own parts, we will fit them if it is safe to do so, but we cannot warrant the part itself.
This website
We keep the prices, services and details on this website accurate and current. Occasionally something is out of date or contains an error. An error doesn't oblige us to honour a price that was never real, and if that happens we'll tell you before any work begins rather than after. The quote we give you is the figure that counts.
Content, branding and images on this site belong to us. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking.
Privacy
How we handle the information you give us is set out in our Privacy Policy, including exactly what the forms collect, where it goes, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them from time to time; the version published here at the date shown at the top is the one that applies to a booking made on that date.
Questions about any of this? Ask us. We'd rather explain it now than argue about it later.
